Functional Movement is movement based on everyday activities & biomechanics. These movements challenge the core & other stabilising muscles, & involve full body integration.
Functional movement exercises are so important for everyone as they help prepare our bodies for the challenges faced in every day life (which are different for every body!).
Our Physiotherapists are experts at assessing your movement patterns & improving these. Our Physiotherapist-led Functional Movement Sessions are goal oriented & we deliver these sessions in an evidenced-based and therapeutic framework.
Our Functional Movement Sessions include a variety of supervised exercises using various pieces of equipment such as Bosu, fitballs, weights, kettlebells, Rip 60, the Oov & larger pieces of Pilates equipment such as Reformers & Trapeze Table.
Your functional movement sessions with our physiotherapists will include Pilates repertoire but will never be limited to Pilates exercises.
Your reasons for wanting to improve functional movement may be to feel better, to experience less (or no!) pain, to improve flexibility or to work on a specific goal such as improving your golf handicap, running your first marathon, doing the splits or just being able to keep up with the grandkids!
